Methodist Senior High School in Sawpon is facing growing pressure on its limited and deteriorating infrastructure as the school accommodates more than 2,000 students.
School authorities say the ageing facilities require urgent renovation and expansion to improve teaching and learning, student supervision and the overall school environment.
The challenge comes as the school welcomes its new Headmistress, Mrs Golda Adam, who was transferred by the Ghana Education Service after serving as Headmistress of Shebio Senior High School.
Mrs Adam says she intends to strengthen relationships with staff, students, parents and other stakeholders as she leads the school.
She is also hopeful that the Methodist community, old students and other stakeholders will support efforts to address the school's infrastructure needs.
With the growing student population putting additional pressure on existing facilities, authorities are calling for investment to ensure students have a safe and conducive environment for learning.
