The ongoing NPP Regional Executive Elections take centre stage on The Big Issue with Umaru Sanda Amadu, as a panel of political and governance commentators weighs in on the process and what delegates should consider when choosing their regional executives.
Former NPP MP for Fomena West, Alexander Abban, cautions the party against trying to “buy our way into power,” stressing the need for a credible approach to rebuilding the NPP.
Executive Secretary of COPEC, Duncan Amoah, urges delegates to look beyond immediate financial benefits, arguing that whatever they receive today will not sustain them for the next four years. He says delegates must properly assess the aspirants and elect people who can solve problems rather than people who become problems themselves.
Senior Fellow at Africa Policy Lens, Dr Joshua Zaato, also calls for the democratic process to be respected, urging delegates to make the right choice through the ballot.
