Fighting Germany's wildfires complicated by unexploded WWII munitions | DW News

Nearly 2,000 residents were evacuated from a village in western Germany after a fast-moving wildfire spread toward homes amid extremely dry conditions. Firefighters face an unusual challenge: parts of the affected forest still contain unexploded World War II ordnance, with occasional detonations reported during the blaze.
