TDC vs TMA: Ebi Bright Explains the Tema Community 1 Demolition Dispute

The dispute between TDC Ghana Ltd and the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has intensified following the demolition of portions of a TDC development project at Tema Community 1, Site 3.

TDC maintains that the project followed government procurement and approval processes and points to a longstanding working arrangement with assemblies. The TMA, however, insists that developments within the metropolis must comply with statutory planning and development-permit requirements.

Speaking on the matter, TMA CEO Ebi Bright defended the Assembly's intervention, saying residents had petitioned over alleged unlawful development.
