Teacher Unions Reject Fair Wages Explanation Over Conditions of Service

Teacher unions have described as deceptive the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission's explanation that it must first establish the proposed Independent Public Emoluments Commission before addressing concerns over their conditions of service.
The unions have given government until September 7, 2026, to address their concerns.
Speaking to Channel One News, Communications Director of the Pre-Tertiary Teachers Association of Ghana, Kingsley Ayimadu, said the unions cannot wait for a commission whose establishment remains uncertain.
The development adds to growing concerns over conditions of service and labour relations in Ghana's education sector.
