TEWU Threatens Industrial Action Over Alleged Neglect of Non-Teaching Staff

The Teachers and Educational Workers' Union of the Trades Union Congress has given the government a two-week ultimatum to address what it describes as persistent neglect, discrimination and unfair treatment of non-teaching staff in Ghana's education sector.
TEWU cites delayed payments, unfair labour practices, poor working conditions and limited career progression among the concerns affecting its members.
Speaking to Channel One News, TEWU Deputy General Secretary Gifty Turkson warned that failure to address the issues within two weeks could affect industrial harmony in the education sector.
