China warns against Japan's neo-militarism and record-high defense budget

China has urged Japan to stop its dangerous moves toward remilitarization, as August 15 marks the 81st anniversary of Japan's surrender in World War II. Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson Chen Xi said on Friday that Japan has failed to genuinely learn the lessons of history, accusing the country of allowing right-wing forces to whitewash its wartime aggression while pushing to break free from the constraints of its pacifist constitution.
