$2,358 per taxpayer: Real cost of America's mass deportation campaign

The Trump administration's mass deportation campaign comes with a $268.9 billion price tag, and American taxpayers are footing the bill. That's $2,358 per taxpayer on average, according to a new Economic Policy Institute analysis. The report says the same money could have been spent on food, healthcare and housing for millions of Americans instead. But the Department of Homeland Security says it's worth it, pointing to a self-deportation scheme that it claims saves cash in the long run.
