Randy Abbey Responds to Cocoa Board Bill Criticism, Explains Its Purpose

Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board, Dr. Randy Abbey, has defended the Cocoa Board Bill 2026 and criticised what he describes as misinformation surrounding the legislation.
Speaking at the launch of the Chamber of Cocoa Marketers, Dr. Abbey said the bill is intended to transform Ghana's cocoa sector while strengthening the protection of cocoa trees.
He also rejected suggestions that the legislation would prevent farmers from adopting good agronomic practices, explaining that the focus is on protecting cocoa trees and preventing their destruction.
