Leading marketing scholar Prof. Ebo Hinson says Ghana must reduce its reliance on imported used vehicles by scaling up local vehicle assembly.

He says expanding domestic automotive production will help reduce the country's vehicle import burden while creating opportunities for more citizens to own new cars and supporting industrial growth.

Delivering the keynote address at the Channel One TV–Zonda Tec Auto Sale and Expo, Prof. Hinson said Ghana's automotive sector presents a major opportunity given Africa's position as one of the world's most underserved vehicle markets.
