CSIR-Water Research Institute Calls for Safe, Reliable Tap Water to Reduce Sachet Use

The CSIR-Water Research Institute has called on Ghana Water Limited to provide reliable and safe potable water to consumers to help reduce dependence on sachet water and the plastic waste associated with its consumption.
The Institute says many Ghanaians continue to rely on sachet water because they lack confidence in the reliability and safety of water from conventional sources.
Speaking to the media after the Institute's mid-year review in Accra, former Director of the CSIR-Water Research Institute, Professor Joseph Ampofo, said improving access to trusted potable water will be key to reducing the widespread use of sachet water.
