Bagbin Recalls Parliament: MPs to Sit for 5 Days Over Urgent Business

Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has recalled Parliament from recess for a five-day sitting to consider what he describes as urgent parliamentary business.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, August 12, the Speaker directed Members of Parliament to return to the House from Monday, August 24 to Friday, August 28, 2026, with proceedings scheduled to begin at noon.

The recall was made under Order 58(4) of Parliament's Standing Orders. The Speaker's notice did not specify the particular urgent matters that necessitated the recall.
