Health Minister: Process Underway to Absorb Qualified Unemployed Health Professionals

Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh says the process is ongoing to gradually absorb qualified but unemployed nurses and other health professionals into Ghana's public health system.

The Minister says government is working to create opportunities for qualified health professionals to be integrated into the public healthcare system as efforts continue to address employment challenges in the sector.

The development comes after the Coalition of Unpaid Nurses and Midwives disclosed that about 99 percent of its 13,000 members recruited in December 2024 have received their salary arrears.
