GPRTU Orders Drivers to Reverse Unapproved Transport Fare Increases

The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has directed drivers who have increased transport fares without approval to immediately revert to the old charges.
The directive follows complaints from passengers that some commercial drivers have started charging higher fares despite the suspension of the planned fare increase.
Speaking to Channel One News, Deputy Public Relations Officer of the GPRTU, Samuel Amoah, said the planned transport fare increase remains suspended until the end of August.
The GPRTU is therefore urging drivers to comply with the directive and continue charging the approved fares until a new decision is announced.
