Tema Abonkor Fish Processors to Be Relocated, Jobs Assured

The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has assured Abonkor fish processors in Tema Newtown that their jobs will be protected despite plans to clear the area and relocate the traders.
The fish processing site currently operates under unhygienic conditions, with processing activities taking place close to a refuse dump, among other challenges affecting the traders and the surrounding environment.
Speaking on Breakfast Daily on Channel One TV, PRO of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly, Frank Asante, said the Assembly is implementing interventions to clear the area and relocate the fishmongers to a more suitable location.
The Assembly says the planned relocation is intended to address the sanitation and environmental concerns while ensuring that the livelihoods of the affected fish processors are protected.
