Heroic joint rescue saves stranded driver in Yunnan

Heavy rainfall triggered flooding and mountain torrents in Mojiang County, southwest China's Yunnan Province on August 9.

Attempting to navigate a flooded road in Sinanjiang Town, a driver became stranded after rapidly rising floodwater swept their vehicle into the river channel.

Upon receiving an emergency call, local police rapidly dispatched officers from nearby police stations. Secured with safety gear, a joint rescue team of police officers, firefighters, town officials and bystanders waded through the swift current to reach the submerged vehicle.

The driver was guided to safety on dry land.
