Stringer Dispatch: Death toll from Colombia's M7.5 earthquake continues to mount

The death toll from the earthquake in western Colombia has risen to more than 250, news agencies reported, citing local authorities. Rescue operations are ongoing as teams search for survivors trapped in the wreckage of collapsed buildings. Authorities have warned that the death toll could rise further due to persistent aftershocks.

A CGTN stringer visited the hard-hit city of Cali and spoke with volunteers and rescue workers on the ground. Volunteer Jorge Álvarez said the situation is extremely critical, with many people still trapped under the rubble.
