Veep Naana Jane Urges Zonda Tec to Expand Local Manufacturing of Auto Parts

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang has urged Zonda Tec to expand the local manufacturing of automotive components to create more jobs and ensure a greater share of value generated by the automotive industry remains in Ghana.
The Vice President made the call during a visit to the company's assembly plant, where she toured the assembly of trucks, specialised vehicles and machinery operating under a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) system.
She also inspected the company's light vehicle assembly operations, including its hybrid and electric vehicles, and highlighted the importance of lower-emission technologies as Ghana seeks to meet its transportation needs while reducing emissions.
Professor Opoku Agyemang also called for stronger collaboration between industry and training institutions to ensure that skills development aligns with opportunities in Ghana's growing industrial sector.
She said the facility demonstrates the potential of government's broader industrialisation agenda and the opportunities that could be created through the 24-Hour Economy.
