Big Push: Gov’t Accelerates Electricity Access Across Four Regions

Government has launched the Big Push Electrification Project to accelerate the extension of electricity to rural and suburban communities that remain without power.
The project was launched on behalf of the Minister for Energy and Green Transition by Deputy Minister Richard Gyan Mensah and will prioritise communities in the Central, Savannah, Oti and Volta Regions.
In the Central Region alone, 211 communities are expected to benefit from the project at an estimated cost of GH¢600 million. The project is expected to be completed within six months.
The Deputy Minister said the initiative will be implemented alongside other interventions aimed at improving electricity distribution and public lighting across the country.
