Traders at the Agbogbloshie Market, popularly known as the Nzema Market, are appealing to government to provide an alternative trading space before they are evacuated to make way for the construction of a new 24-hour market.

The appeal follows a one-month notice issued by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) for traders and other occupants to vacate the area.

The traders say they support development but want a suitable alternative space to continue their businesses without losing their livelihoods.

The proposed 24-hour market forms part of government's broader plans to expand infrastructure and support the 24-hour economy.
