Adu-Boahen, Hanan Trials to Continue During Legal Vacation

Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie has rejected calls for the trials of former National Signals Bureau Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahen and former NAFCO CEO Hanan Abdul-Wahab to be suspended during the legal vacation.
The decision follows objections from lawyers for the accused persons and the Ghana Bar Association, who have challenged the legality of the Chief Justice's directive authorising the judges handling the cases to sit as vacation judges.
The lawyers had called for the proceedings to be deferred until after the legal vacation, citing concerns over the directive and prior commitments during the period.
However, the Chief Justice has rejected the calls, meaning the trials are set to proceed during the legal vacation.
