Former MP for Anyaa Sowutuom, Dr Dickson Adomako Kissi, says Ghana's proposed cocoa reforms must go beyond providing incentives to farmers and focus on industrialising cocoa farming.
Dr Adomako Kissi says the reforms should support the aggregation of cocoa farms, provide farmers with the necessary equipment and expand their capacity to increase production.
“I was hoping this bill would rather industrialise cocoa farming.”
He also commended the inclusion of the Trade Ministry in the reform process, stressing the importance of a broader approach to strengthening Ghana's cocoa sector.
