Human Trafficking: Ghana Police Rescue 33 Victims From Forced Sex Work

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Ghana Police Service has rescued 33 victims of human trafficking from forced commercial sex activities.

The latest rescue operation adds to several previous interventions by the Police to combat human trafficking and protect victims from exploitation.

The development has renewed calls for the Chief Justice to expedite the establishment of specialised courts to deal specifically with human trafficking and cyber fraud cases.

Advocates say dedicated courts could help improve the prosecution of trafficking and cyber-related offences while ensuring that cases are handled more efficiently.
