Minority Leader in Parliament Alexander Afenyo-Markin says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has no personal issues with the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi.
Mr. Afenyo-Markin said the concerns raised by the Minority are focused on the activities and operations of GoldBod, rather than being targeted at Sammy Gyamfi personally.
His comments follow remarks by the GoldBod CEO dismissing criticism from the Minority Leader as being driven by “bitterness.”
Sammy Gyamfi has also indicated his readiness to appear before Parliament to account for the operations of GoldBod.
According to the GoldBod CEO, Mr. Afenyo-Markin and other NPP figures have raised concerns about the institution without making specific allegations that require a response.
But speaking to the media, Afenyo-Markin said the Minority wants the best for Sammy Gyamfi and urged him to take his time to respond to the issues raised rather than allowing others to attack the Minority over the concerns.
