Teachers Threaten Strike Over 20% Deprived-Area Allowance

The Pre-Tertiary Teachers Association of Ghana (PRETAG) has given government a two-week ultimatum to implement the 20% deprived-area allowance for teachers or face industrial action.

National President of PRETAG, King Ali Awudu, also called for the promotion of teachers from Deputy Director to Director II and Director I, citing a 2024 campaign promise by President John Mahama.
