Channel One News Report Brings Relief as Wanchiki Dam Is Reconstructed

Residents of Wanchiki in the Chereponi District of the North East Region are celebrating what they describe as the positive impact of a Channel One News report that has brought lasting relief to their community.

In April 2025, Channel One News highlighted the challenges residents faced in accessing safe water for domestic use and livestock, particularly during the dry season.

Following the report, the Coastal States Stability Mechanism (CSSM), in collaboration with the Chereponi District Assembly, reconstructed the Wanchiki community dam.

Residents say the intervention has significantly improved access to water and brought relief to the community.
