Think tank chief: Japan should accept China-US parity and stabilize ties

Japan's push for a larger military and intelligence role is misguided, says Wang Huiyao, founder and president of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG). With the US and China having reached a new strategic equilibrium, he argues, Japan should also seek stability with Beijing, not fuel tensions. After all, China remains Japan's largest trading partner, and Asian prosperity depends on cooperation, not confrontation, he adds. #theheat
