DRC Ebola health workers strike over unpaid wages since May

Health workers battling the Ebola outbreak in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo have staged protests in Ituri province, demanding wages unpaid since mid-May. The World Health Organization says it has received less than half the funding needed for an effective response, as the outbreak spreads across five provinces. Nearly 4,000 people have been infected and more than 1,800 have died. Officials blame logistical challenges for the payment delays, while the UN warns disruptions could hinder efforts to break transmission chains.

Al Jazeera's Felix Nyawara reports from Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo.
