Houthis claim 45 killed in attacks on Yemen government forces; Saudi Arabia reports Najran strike

Yemen's Ansar Allah group, commonly referred to as the Houthis, say they killed 45 people in attacks on Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces in the east of the country, using ballistic missiles and drones to target military positions in Hadramout and Marib provinces. The strikes targeted the al-Thiniya camp and other areas, with government forces confirming casualties from the attacks. The escalation marks a shift in Houthi operations, which had previously focused on Israeli-linked shipping and regional infrastructure. The group says it is targeting forces it accuses of working with Saudi Arabia against its control of Yemen. In a separate incident, Saudi Arabia's military coalition says 11 civilians were wounded in a Houthi attack on the southern border region of Najran, including seven Saudi nationals, a woman and a child. The Houthis say they targeted Najran airport as part of their campaign against Saudi Arabia in response to earlier Saudi strikes on Sanaa International Airport. Yemen has been divided since 2014, with the Houthis controlling Sanaa and much of the northwest, while the internationally recognised government is based in Aden.
