'His service to Ghana won't be forgotten' - Mahama eulogises Omane Boamah as Cenotaph is unveiled
President John Dramani Mahama has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late former Defence Minister, Dr Edward Kofi Omani Boamah, describing him as a devoted patriot whose service, integrity and sacrifice to Ghana will continue to inspire future generations.
Speaking at the unveiling of a cenotaph in honour of the late minister, President Mahama reflected on Dr. Omani Boamah's contribution to strengthening Ghana's armed forces and democratic governance. He also spoke of their close personal relationship, describing him as a loyal friend, trusted adviser and dedicated public servant.
The President thanked the Ghana Armed Forces for honouring Dr. Omani Boamah, whom he described as the only Defence Minister to have died while in active service, and expressed gratitude to Burkina Faso for sending a special envoy to participate in the ceremony.
