$6.9m Cocaine Seized at Tema Harbour as Three Arrested, Including Dutch National

The Tema Regional Police Command has intercepted 866 parcels of substances suspected to be cocaine concealed in sacks of gari and allegedly being prepared for export through the Tema Harbour enclave.
Three persons, including a Dutch national, have been arrested in connection with the seizure, which the Police estimate has a street value of about US$6.9 million.
According to the Tema Regional Police Command, the operation followed intelligence that some individuals were loading parcels of a white substance into a 40-foot container at a warehouse within the Tema Harbour enclave.
The suspects were arrested while allegedly supervising the loading process, with the recovered items, truck and other exhibits secured as investigations continue.
Police say forensic examination will determine the exact nature of the substance, while intelligence-led operations remain ongoing to disrupt narcotics trafficking and unlawful drug possession.
