WAEC Rejects Claims of Marking Down Private School Candidates in BECE Results

The West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) has rejected allegations that it deliberately marked down candidates from private schools in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

WAEC says its marking system is fair, objective and free from bias, insisting that the process is guided by internationally accepted standards of accuracy, consistency and integrity.

The response follows concerns raised by the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) over alleged discrepancies in this year's BECE results.

WAEC says stakeholders with concerns about the results should use the Council's established channels to seek clarification rather than rely on speculation.
