NDC Leaders Visit Murtala’s Family After Fire Guts Tamale Residence

The leadership of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has visited the family of the late Tamale Central MP, Mohammed Ibrahim Murtala, following a fire outbreak at the family's residence.
The blaze, which occurred on Wednesday at about 3:30 p.m., destroyed nine of the 17 rooms in the compound and caused extensive damage to property.
The visit formed part of efforts by the NDC leadership to show support and solidarity with the family of the late legislator, who died in the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash alongside seven other public officials.
Authorities from the Ghana National Fire Service have begun investigations into the cause of the fire and the extent of damage.
