JD Vance: 'Iranians are extremely difficult people'

U.S. Vice President JD Vance described Iran as "extraordinarily difficult people," saying negotiations over Tehran's nuclear programme will take time because of divisions within Iran's leadership.

His remarks came after a proposed Oman-brokered deal would give Iran control over ships entering the Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. has not commented on the proposal, and American officials have previously insisted they would never agree to Iran controlling access to the strategic waterway.

Iran has repeatedly said that it is not in direct contact with American officials and is negotiating with Oman on issues regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
