Government is moving to unlock the commercial potential of the Volta Lake through plans to attract private investment into transport, agriculture and industrial development along the corridor.

The initiative, known as the Volta Economic Corridor, is expected to create new economic opportunities, support production and improve connections between Ghana's production centres and regional markets.

The project is part of government's broader strategy to strengthen infrastructure, expand economic activity and promote trade through improved transport and industrial links.
