Obuasi SHTS Riot: Education Ministry Orders GES Investigation Into Headmaster Attack

The Ministry of Education has directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to immediately investigate the unrest at Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS), where students allegedly assaulted the headmaster and vandalised school property.
The Ministry said anyone found culpable after investigations must be dealt with in accordance with the law and the regulations governing Ghana's education sector.
Speaking to Channel One News, the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, condemned the assault on the headmaster and the destruction of school property, describing the actions as criminal and unacceptable.
He added that all investigations and subsequent disciplinary measures must follow due process.
