Linda Ocloo Announces More Demolitions as Accra Intensifies Flood Prevention Efforts

The Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) says more structures built on waterways across the capital will be demolished next week as part of ongoing efforts to address flooding.

The move follows recent cleanup exercises, drain desilting works and previous demolition exercises carried out after the June 29 floods that affected parts of Accra.

Speaking after a monitoring visit to selected Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, said government remains committed to tackling flooding in the capital.

She stressed that authorities will continue implementing measures aimed at improving drainage systems and reducing the impact of floods.
