Obuasi SHTS Unrest: Students Attack Headmaster Over Alleged Baby Burial Claim

A heavy security presence has been deployed at Obuasi Senior High Technical School in the Ashanti Region after some students allegedly went on a rampage, assaulted the headteacher and vandalised school property.
The students reportedly attacked the headmaster, Abdullai Zakari, after accusing him of allegedly burying a newborn on the school's campus.
The headteacher, who is said to have sustained multiple injuries during the attack, is currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
According to reports, the incident occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. after a student claimed to have seen the headmaster's vehicle near the school's refuse dump.
The student allegedly raised an alarm, leading other students to gather at the location, where they claimed to have discovered what they believed was the burial site of a baby estimated to be about five to six months old.
Authorities are investigating the incident as efforts continue to restore calm at the school.
