NPP Demands Financing Details for Government’s GH¢2 Diesel Relief Plan

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is demanding that government disclose how it intends to finance its proposed GH¢2-per-litre diesel price relief, warning that the intervention could worsen Ghana's fiscal challenges if not properly managed.
The party says the temporary relief could result in revenue losses and increase financial pressures if implemented without a clear and transparent funding plan.
Addressing the media at the party's headquarters in Accra, Co-chair of the NPP Policy Committee and Ranking Member on Parliament's Energy Committee, George Kwame Aboagye, questioned the source of funding for the intervention.
He called on government to publish the full financing arrangement before implementing the policy.
