Prof. Charles Ackah Warns Ghana Against Overreliance on Austerity Measures

Ghana risks being left behind in the global race for economic transformation if it continues to rely on austerity measures to build budget surpluses.

This is according to Research Fellow at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), Professor Charles Ackah, who argues that Ghana must rethink its economic strategy and place greater emphasis on productive investment.

Prof. Ackah says sustainable economic growth requires policies that expand productive capacity, create opportunities and strengthen the country's ability to compete globally.
