Houthis Target Saudi Tanker, Threaten Global Oil Routes

Yemen's Ansarullah Houthis say they strike a Saudi oil tanker off Yanbu and target Najran Airport, escalating pressure on Riyadh. They announce a naval blockade on Saudi shipping through the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, a narrow strait that carries key flows to Asia. Saudi oil accounts for about 66% of cargo through Bab al-Mandab, with Red Sea lanes carrying 10–12% of global trade, so any disruption may tighten energy markets.
