Koforidua Technical University Suspends SRC Events After NACOC Arrests

Management of Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has temporarily suspended all SRC-related events on campus following arrests made by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) during last Friday's SRC Week celebration.

The university has also set up an independent committee to investigate the incident and establish the circumstances surrounding the arrests.

According to management, seven out of the ten persons arrested have been identified as students of the university and remain in NACOC custody in Accra.

The Head of Public Affairs at KTU, Macclean Lovelace-Dodoo, said the decision to suspend SRC events is to allow investigations to proceed while management reviews the situation.

He added that the university may organise counselling sessions for students who were traumatised by the incident after the committee presents its report.
