The Head of the Responsible AI Lab at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Prof. Jerry John Kponyo, is calling for increased investment in infrastructure to support the development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions in Ghana.
Prof. Kponyo says strengthening Ghana's digital infrastructure is critical to unlocking the potential of AI, particularly in the healthcare sector.
He stressed that reliable digital systems and the right technological infrastructure are necessary for the effective adoption of AI tools that can improve healthcare delivery and support innovation.
The call was made amid discussions on the role of AI in healthcare and pharmaceuticals at the 2026 International Conference on AI in Healthcare & Pharma.
