AI labels on chatbots, deepfakes: Why EU AI transparency rules matter

New transparency rules are now in place in the European Union. Starting August 2, the European Commission's AI Office extended the scope of the Artificial Intelligence Act. These measures mark a significant step in the phased rollout of the EU's AI Act. But, their implications stretch far beyond Europe. How could these rules likely affect AI development? What do they mean for the future of global AI governance?
