President John Dramani Mahama says Ghana is standing with Jamaica ahead of its planned petition to King Charles III seeking reparatory justice for the historical injustices of slavery.

Addressing a special joint sitting of the Jamaican Parliament, President Mahama called on the international community to sustain momentum in confronting the enduring impact of the transatlantic slave trade.

He said the pursuit of reparatory justice is rooted in accountability and the need to address the historical consequences of slavery.
