Energy analyst Ben Nsiah says the intervention could help reduce the impact of rising fuel costs on inflation by limiting the pass-through effect on consumers and businesses.
According to him, the measure may also help sustain economic activity by supporting consumption and protecting revenue generated from the petroleum sector.
His comments follow government's decision to absorb GH¢2 per litre on diesel as part of efforts to provide relief amid fuel price pressures.
