Wenger Denies Involvement in Infantino’s $4 Billion World Cup Investment Plan

FIFA's Chief of Global Football Development, Arsène Wenger, has clarified that he had no involvement in FIFA President Gianni Infantino's proposal to sell a stake in the FIFA World Cup to a private investment firm.
The proposal, which sought to raise US$4 billion through a deal with an investment group led by Joshua Kushner, brother of Jared Kushner, triggered widespread opposition before FIFA withdrew the plan.
In a statement released on Tuesday, August 4, Wenger said he was not part of the strategic discussions and only became aware of the project through media reports.
The former Arsenal manager, who also serves as a technical adviser to the International Football Association Board (IFAB), said his role at FIFA is focused on global football development and not investment decisions.
