Christian Council Supports Lowering Presidential Age Limit to 35 Years

The Christian Council of Ghana has welcomed government's endorsement of the Constitution Review Committee's recommendation to reduce the minimum age for presidential candidates from 40 to 35 years.
The General Secretary of the Council, Cyril Fayose, said the proposed reform would create more opportunities for young people to participate in national leadership and contribute to Ghana's development.
He made the comments during the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment and the Christian Council of Ghana.
The Council believes increasing youth participation in governance will strengthen democratic inclusion and provide opportunities for a new generation of leaders.
