Tema Warehouse Fire: Firefighters Injured as GNFS Battles Rubber Factory Blaze

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has fully extinguished a warehouse fire at Tema that left several firefighters injured.
The fire, which broke out around midnight on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, engulfed a rubber recycling warehouse and factory, but the swift response by the Fire Service prevented the blaze from spreading to nearby structures.
Speaking to Channel One News, a member of the GNFS Communications Team, Alex King Nartey, said part of the building collapsed during the firefighting operation, leaving one firefighter seriously injured while others sustained minor injuries.
The Fire Service says efforts were focused on containing the flames, protecting surrounding facilities and ensuring the complete extinguishing of the fire.
