Prez Mahama to Push Caribbean Inclusion in AfCFTA as AU Chairman

President John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to champion the inclusion of Caribbean nations in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) when he assumes the position of Chairman of the African Union (AU).

President Mahama described the move as a strategic step towards strengthening economic cooperation and deepening trade relations between Africa and the Caribbean.

He made the remarks during a joint press conference with Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness as part of his official state visit to Jamaica.

The President said closer economic integration between Africa and Caribbean countries will create new opportunities for trade, investment and collaboration between both regions.
